CAMP BEUHRING, Kuwait (April 15, 2019) – A U.S. Marine MV-22 Osprey with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit flies across the desert with U.S. Army Soldiers as part of an inter-service familiarity flight event during Marine Expeditionary Unit Exercise. The event allowed the Soldiers to see and learn about the CH-53E Super Stallion and the MV-22 Osprey prior to being taken on a flight. Marines and Sailors with the 22nd MEU and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group are currently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
