U.S. Marines and Sailors with the maritime raid force (MRF), 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), receive a brief during a rehearsal for a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) mission as part of the MEU’s Realistic Urban Training exercise aboard Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., Aug. 27, 2013. The Marines conducted the rehearsal to coordinate the actions of the various elements of the MRF during the VBSS mission. The MEU is scheduled to deploy in early 2014 to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibilities with the Bataan Amphibious Ready group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious operations across the full range of military operations.
