U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (June 27, 2014) U.S. Marines with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and U.S. Navy Sailors with the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) sort cargo and mail as an MH-60S Seahawk with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 9 (HSC 9) drops off more pallets during a replenishment at sea aboard the Mesa Verde. The 22nd MEU is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout U.S. Central Command and the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
