Arabian Gulf - U.S. Marine Sgt. Nathaniel Dunchie, an infantry squad leader with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, sprints during a stress shoot on the flight deck of the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry (LSD-43). The purpose of this shoot tests the Marine’s marksmanship fundamentals in a stressful environment by having the Marines perform several exercises before shooting. Marines and Sailors with the 22nd MEU and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group are currently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
