Assault Amphibian Vehicles from the platoon scheduled to deploy with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit later this year await the order to splash in the water as part of the MEU's Amphibious Specialty Training (AST) aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., April 12, 2005. The exercise gave many of the Marines their first taste of shipboard life and the platoon an opportunity to practice conducting ship-to-shore movements.
