One of several Iraqi soldiers embedded with the reconnaissance platoon of Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 2nd Marines, the ground combat element of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), brings up the rear of a patrol during Operation Moon River in Kubaysah, Iraq, Dec. 31, 2005. Operation Moon River is part of the 22nd MEU (SOC)'s ongoing counterinsurgency effort in Iraq's Al Anbar province undertaken as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
